Starbucks gives free coffee for giving back....

"Give back and Get Free Starbucks" talks about how Starbucks gives back to you if you give back to a community. This is called the "I'm In" promotion and Starbucks launched this after Barack Obama became president. During five certain dates Starbucks gave a free tall brewed coffee for customers who filled out a 5-community service hour pledge card. The goal of this promotion was to gain one million community service hours. Starbucks also gave free coffee for people that voted.
I think that it is a good gesture, not only for the company itself to build brand loyalty, but also to give back to the community. Starbucks is essentially the coffee king of the world, and for them to give away their product for free for anyone's gesture to the community is a good incentive for the public. Because Starbucks is such a world renown company, I think that doing promotions like these are huge because they gain so much participation because of their brand loyalty from customers. This promotion shows Starbucks' corporate responsibility by using their own product as an incentive for people to give back in their own communities. Bigger companies, like Starbucks, should participate and promote programs like these because it helps not only promote their own product, but goodwill towards anyone else that may be their future customer.

  1. I wasn't aware of this. I think this is great for promoting community service through volunteering. It seems most people these days associate community service with judge ordered. So it's good that Starbucks is trying to get people involved and rewarding them with fuel to keep them awake for that involvement lol.

  2. I think that this is great example of a company truly trying to help out the community and not just trying to raise profits. The fact that Starbucks is such a large brand also enables them to truly make a difference across the whole nation, and not just a small section. I am surprised to see Starbucks doing this as usually its only smaller, local companies that care this much about the community.

  3. This sounds awesome! I would totally do this. This promotion looks more like it's geared toward a younger generation. Personally, I don't see adults doing community service, but hey, I'm technically an adult and I would do it. Starbucks is taking the world by a storm and I think this is a great way to promote the Starbucks name.
