Gadgets going Green

In this post, Samsung is pledging to become on the greenest tech companies by 2013. This is an excellent example of corporate responsibility. We are surrounded by technology and all of it requires energy in one way or another. Samsung's initiative to take the challenge to make things greener is great. Not only are they focusing on their products being more green, they have set up an entire task force to monitor the emissions that come out of their factories. In addition, they have spend billions of dollars investing in the green movement.

This is an amazing challenge that many companies in the technology sector should take on also. All things need energy to be made and all this use energy to operate. I believe that Intel, Sony, Nokia, and other giant tech companies should do the same. Having one sector make a change may pave the way for other sectors to do the same and follow suit. We have to conserve the energy that we use today and lowered the green house emissions. Going green now, will not only change the way we live int he future but for generations to come. I understand that technology is never going to slow down. So if it is not going to slow down, we have to keep the energy usage low.

  1. This is great! Even though we have a long way to go with cleaning up the environmental deficit from the past hundred years, it is absolutely good news for us to start building a cleaner tomorrow.
