Dutch Bros. Fights Cancer

Dutch Bros. Coffee has recently given back to its community by donating money to Relay For Life. Relay For Life is an American Cancer Society event that is put on to help raise money for the research toward a cure for cancer. It is a 24 hour event that consists of teams walking around a track to represent how cancer never sleeps. There was one held in August 2010 in Springfield, Oregon. Dutch Bros. Coffee raised $34,700 for the event.

I have participated in Relay For Life at home in Hawaii, and it is really fun. My school’s Key Club made a team and we had a member on the track walking for the whole 24 hours. There are different things going on to keep everyone awake, like singers, inspirational talks from cancer survivors, etc. Cancer affects so many people and I’m glad that there are events such as these to help fight it. Dutch Bros. Coffee is fulfilling its corporate social responsibility because with all of their successful business, they are giving back to the community. The donation money came from their customers, so the people feel like they also are making a difference in the world. This is the fifth year in a row that Dutch Bros. Coffee has participated in Relay For Life. Their constant presence will build a positive reputation.

  1. I think it is great that Dutch Brothers is giving to such a huge cause. They are taking huge steps to be a better company and get in good with the community. I think that they will continue to do things like this and participate in more events.

  2. I think this a great that Dutch is giving back to a major disease that effects everyone in some way or another. Just one of the many examples on how the coffee company has built brand loyalty and/or corporate responsibility. Dutch, being a major magnet for coffee lovers, has the power and upbeat energy to be successful while donating to causes that effect us worldwide. Like I stated within my proposal, getting involved with organizations as big as Relay for Life, will really be the front hand in helping the company expand and build their name.
