Is Sears doing enough?

Sears. Know for their supply of moderately priced furnishing, appliances, home decor, and tools. They are a household name, recognized across the states. The retail store is popular for their friendly service and local ties, have been doing more lately to connect with their customers, from suggestion and comment platforms on sites like Facebook and Twitter. They continue to push their staff to the limits of customer satisfaction, with continual rebates and marketing campaigns aimed at loyal customers, but the question is, 'is that all they can do for their community?'
In this age consumers are becoming more and more concerned about the quality of their supplier's hearts as their products. And with that customers are going to start asking soon, and in some cases already have, 'what about your Corporate Social Responsibly.' While Sears constantly offers bargain prices for low budget families, but what about families with no budget? Surely there is some possibility of Sears starting a grant for low income families to get much needed replacement driers refrigerators or other common home appliances!
The question we need to ask is does Sears only care about the bottom line? Obviously in today's economy meeting a sales quota is getting harder and financial strains are on Sears as much as anyone else. But will they only go so far as Social Networking? I believe that when companies put people first they will see a return in loyal customers. Does this outweigh the monetary loss of helping the low end of American families? Financially? Probably not. Conscientiously? Absolutely!
